One of the three main disciplines in our 'Sport of Fitness' is weightlifting and here in our community, we tend to use the English term ‘weightlifting'. The origins of the most common lifts (the ‘Snatch’ and the ‘Clean and J..the movements – lifting the weight fully above your head – is the same in both worlds, the Olympic version of the movements places more emphasis on the technical aspects, whereas CrossFit is mainly about holding a strong position.
We’re sure we don't have to tell you that exercising is healthy – most people know that getting enough exercise is important. However, what’s often lacking is the energy or motivation to start and stick with it. Some good news for.. participating in physical activities at a younger age will contribute to a positive attitude towards sport and exercise in later life. In turn, this will directly translate into a fitter and more active life and therefore a better quality of life.
If you attend a group class at our club on a regular basis, you will notice that we rarely – if ever – start a class without using a foam roller or massage ball. We’d like to explain our reasons for doing this so you can see just how important it is.
